Hotspur U-21 Sneak Past Blaze, 4-3
|
José Souza left his imprint on the 4-3 Phoenix win against the South Beach Blaze. Souza was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times. Phoenix reliever Lucas Akerval was credited with the win, to go to 3-1. Zion DeBose took the loss for South Beach. Jason MacDonald was credited with the save for Phoenix, his 14th of the season.
Braylen Sampson found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the eighth. Facing South Beach hurler Zion DeBose, the 21-year-old first baseman got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run. His 16th RBI of the season put the Hotspur U-21 on top, 4-3.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Souza said after the game.
Phoenix is now 34-49.
