Dragonblood Get One-Run Win at Phoenix
The Yellowknife Dragonblood eked out a 5-4 win versus the Phoenix Hotspur U-21 at Hotspur Kiddie Complex. Nobody did more than pitcher Shang-de Fu, who captured player of the game honors. Shusaku Kobayashi, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. Yellowknife has 3 straight wins, Phoenix 3 straight losses.

A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the first inning when the Dragonblood sent teenager Víctor Cuevas to the plate against Hotspur U-21 hurler Masahiro Sakei. With the bases loaded and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 2-1 cutter to score 2.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Yellowknife manager Dan Joseph.
