The Hogsmeade Cauldrons did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the South Beach Blaze at The Ballpark on the Beach. Nobody did more than pitcher William Fothergill, who captured player of the game honors. Brian Peeks earned the save, his 18th. The Cauldrons saw their win-loss record go to 37-37. At the same time, the Blaze fell to 45-29.
Akke Derksen aided the Hogsmeade cause with a 2-run single in the top of the first. For the game, the right fielder was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
South Beach manager Lockwood Rose said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
