Blaze Topple Herons with Late Rally

Fans who gathered at The Heron Refuge saw a good contest between the South Beach Blaze and Hammond Herons.
South Beach pitcher Darren Minich did his part in helping his team beat the Hammond Herons, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. South Beach reliever Leo Ingelbrigtsen picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Tom Hegedus shouldered the loss. Nésto Gago was credited with the save for South Beach, his 2nd of the season.
Had Serious Lee not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Lee hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Blaze.
"I like the roll we're on," said South Beach manager Lockwood Rose.
South Beach has now won 6 games in a row.
