Emery Delivers Walk-Off Win for Bulls
|
The Mt. Vernon Bulls went home winners at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon, thanks in large part to starter Ken Borrego. Borrego silenced the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, enabling Mt. Vernon to grab the 2-1 win. Mt. Vernon is 33-30 and Phoenix, with the loss, 26-37.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Mt. Vernon second baseman Beau Emery, facing Jason MacDonald, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Bulls the 2-1 win.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Mt. Vernon manager Kane Shoemaker.
