Blaze Bridle Herons, 2-1
|
The South Beach Blaze did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Hammond Herons at The Heron Refuge. Nobody did more than pitcher Harrison Tuff, who captured player of the game honors. The last-place Herons have lost 4 straight games.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the top of the fourth inning. That's when shortstop Ed Bowers drew a walk. The Blaze went on to win.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" South Beach manager Lockwood Rose said.
