Dominant Performance by Overwater in Columbia Win
|
The Columbia River Rats got a magnificent performance from pitcher Giel Overwater, who stifled the Hammond offense en route to a 3-0 River Rats win at The Heron Refuge. Jaganmani Vivek earned the save, his 3rd, for the River Rats. The Herons, at 12-23, have lost 4 straight games.
Overwater, who was born in Willemstad, Curaçao, threw 101 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing no earned runs.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Columbia manager Wes Murray. "It's usually not just one thing."
