Herons Fall to Bulls, 4-0
|
Mt. Vernon Bulls starter Steve Costlow was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Hammond Herons, 4-0. Curt Orser recorded his 1st save for Mt. Vernon. Mt. Vernon is now 20-12, while Hammond is 12-20.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, right fielder Toby Sutton came through big-time for the Bulls. With Mt. Vernon leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Mt. Vernon skipper Kane Shoemaker.
