Souza Delivers Walk-Off Win for Hotspur U-21
|
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 went home winners at Hotspur Kiddie Complex, thanks in large part to starter Larry Souder. Souder silenced the Mt. Vernon Bulls, enabling Phoenix to grab the 2-1 win. The Hotspur U-21 move to 12-18 with the win, while the Bulls drop to 19-11.
José Souza found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Mt. Vernon hurler Curt Orser, the 20-year-old third baseman hit a sacrifice fly. His 2nd RBI of the season put the Hotspur U-21 on top, 2-1.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Souder.
