Bulls Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
Mt. Vernon left-hander Steve Costlow helped his team edge Yellowknife by the score of 3-2. Costlow kept the opposing lineup in check. Costlow picked up the win for Mt. Vernon, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Mt. Vernon is off to a hot start at 13-6.
Had Robby Arnold not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Arnold hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Bulls.
"Enjoyed this one," Arnold told the Mt. Vernon Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
