Chikafuji Rips Chicago for 5 Hits
|
Yoichibei Chikafuji put on a hitting clinic today as the Idaho Falls Chukars dumped the Chicago Tula 7-0 at Ramblers Ballpark.
The Idaho Falls center fielder made Chicago defenders earn their pay, lashing Chicago pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Chikafuji said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Yoichibei Chikafuji singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Chikafuji is hitting .327 this year with 1 home run and 6 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .389, 2 walks and scored 8 times.
