Bruins Raise Rally Flag, Beat Niagara Falls, 3-2
|
The Bellevue Bruins took Niagara Falls pitcher Derek Patton's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Waterfall Park. The final score had Bellevue getting past the Expos, 3-2. Patton went 8 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 7. The Expos, now 39-51, have lost 5 straight.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Lorenzo Díaz hit a 0-1 splitter from Tony Wolfe for a run-scoring triple. It put Bellevue in front, 3-2.
"I like what I saw today," said Bellevue manager , "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
