Plainsmen Get Road Win, 6-2
|
Nebraska Plainsmen starter Enrique Mateo turned in a top-notch performance against the Grim Reapers at The Coffin. The result was a win for the Plainsmen, 6-2. Pedro Ortíz notched his 3rd save in 3 chances. The 'W' lifts Nebraska's record to 33-43.
Yin-reng Hsueh had a big 2-run triple for the Plainsmen in the top of the fourth inning. With Nebraska leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Andy Fallon and stroked the triple to left-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Plainsmen ahead, 4-0.
In postgame comments to the Nebraska Times, Mateo said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
