Generals Rally to Eke Out Win
|
Washington Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Washington Generals and the Grim Reapers.
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Stan Wheeler, the Washington Generals defeated the Grim Reapers, 4-3. Wheeler went 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Generals. Washington is now 35-35.
The Generals got a big at-bat from second baseman Alan Patterson. For the game, Patterson was 2-5 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 34th hit of the season gave Washington a 4-3 lead.
After the game, Washington manager Jacob Curtis applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
