Late Rally by Generals Secures Win
|
The Washington Generals topped the Bellevue Bruins by the score of 3-2, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder Mike Lipide. Lipide went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI for the Generals. The Generals bumped their record to 34-34 with this latest triumph.
Lipide had a game-changing single in the bottom of the ninth. On a full count curveball from Brendan Haataja, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Generals a 3-2 lead. It was the 77th hit of the year for Lipide.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Lipide told the Washington Times.
