Bruins Get Close Win Over Seahawks
|
Octávio Valdéz could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Myrtle Beach Seahawks lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Bellevue Bruins at Bellevue Field. Bellevue reliever Jin Kwon picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Octávio Valdéz shouldered the loss. Earning his 18th save for Bellevue was Brendan Haataja.
Had Aurelio Jiménez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Jiménez hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Bruins.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Jiménez told the Bellevue Chronicle.
The Seahawks, now 26-35, have lost 4 straight.
