Walleye Tank was the site for USSL Single A action featuring the Walla Walla Walleye and Washington Generals.
The Washington Generals topped the Walla Walla Walleye, 7-2, with youngster Alonso Vielma playing a key role. Vielma went 2-4 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Generals in the win. Dan Fletcher earned the win for Washington. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 4-7.
The Generals got a big at-bat from third baseman Bill Perkins. For the game, Perkins was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Washington a 2-0 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Vielma told the Washington Times.
The Generals now have a mark of 29-31.
