The Nebraska Plainsmen topped the Bellevue Bruins, 2-1, in USSL Single A action at Plain Old Stadium. The player of the game was Nebraska pitcher Enrique Mateo. The save was credited to Nick Kelley, his 5th. Nebraska, at 22-36, occupies 9th place in the Silver A.
Nebraska took a 2-1 lead on Rafael Porfrio's 8th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Porfrio hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Bellevue pitcher Christian Clayton shaking his head.
"I was a little disappointed," said Bellevue manager . "We could've and should've scored more runs."
