Walleye Take Tight Tilt

The Walla Walla Walleye and Myrtle Beach Seahawks put on a pitchers' duel at Walleye Tank.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Walla Walla Walleye and the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, Martyn Drdio was the difference-maker. The Walla Walla right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 1-0 win. Walla Walla reliever Martyn Drdio was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. Octávio Valdéz took the loss for Myrtle Beach. Quan Shiu finished to wrap up his 4th save.
The Walleye got a big at-bat from first baseman Luis Delvalle. For the game, Delvalle was 1-2 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 20th double of the season gave Walla Walla a 1-0 lead.
Drdio said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Walla Walla is now 22-34, Myrtle Beach 25-31.
