Bruins Top 1787 BC, 4-2
|
The Bellevue Bruins got a stellar performance from pitcher Claudio Mateo, who handcuffed the Delaware offense en route to a 4-2 win at Bellevue Field. The winning pitcher was Mateo, now 3-2. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Bellevue is now 24-15, Delaware 26-13.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the fourth inning. That's when right fielder Domingo Colón drew a walk. The Bruins went on to win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Colón. "And not try to do too much."
