Myrtle Beach pitcher Garrett Schaper did his part in helping his team beat the Niagara Falls Expos, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Sebastian Calvert picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Dao-zi Zhai was tagged with the loss. Myrtle Beach, at 14-23, sits in 9th place in the Silver A.

Luke Thornton found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Niagara Falls hurler Dao-zi Zhai, the 21-year-old catcher reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. His 9th RBI of the season put the Seahawks on top, 4-3.
