Washington second baseman Júlio Rodríguez had a good game, even if his team did not. The Generals dropped a 9-7 decision to Syracuse at Washington Park. Rodríguez went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kerry Tenner earned the save for Syracuse, his 3rd of the year. Syracuse is now riding a 3-game win streak.

The most important at-bat for Syracuse came in the top of the ninth inning, when pinch hitter Gidde Collin stroked a 2-0 fastball to left-center for a run-scoring triple, putting Syracuse up, 8-7.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Collin said after the game.
