1787 BC Turn Back Washington, 4-3
|
Delaware beat Washington on the strength of starter Moses Keijzer's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Keijzer, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing 3 earned runs. Earning his 6th save for Delaware was Todd Howell.
Mikko Haataja drew 3 walks for Delaware. The slick-fielding shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Matt Dronfield. It was his 12th walk of the season.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Keijzer said.
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Delaware.
