Victory Over Seahawks Takes Grim to 22-2
|
Seahwaks Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Myrtle Beach Seahawks and Grim Reapers.
Rusty Maxson never let the Seahawks get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Reapers to a 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Maxson, now 5-1. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7.
The Reapers got a big at-bat from second baseman Lu-fang Koo. For the game, Koo was 2-4 with a double. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 19th hit of the season gave Grim a 2-1 lead.
"We've got a great group of guys," Maxson said, "and we're having fun right now."
The Reapers have an impressive 22-2 record.
