Walla Walla pitcher Jon King gave the Storm all they could handle, but in the end, Syracuse left Walleye Tank with a 2-1 win. King allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits over 9 innings. Kerry Tenner earned the save for Syracuse, his 2nd of the year. Syracuse is 9-12 and Walla Walla, with the loss, 6-15.
Syracuse took control in the top of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Dave Maxwell hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Storm.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Maxwell. "And not try to do too much."
