Walleye Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
The Walla Walla Walleye defeated the Syracuse Storm, 7-6, at Walleye Tank today. Leading the charge for Walla Walla was first baseman Johan Kroening. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Reliever Robbie Hodge picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Shi-xian Kuai took the loss. Even with the win, the Walleye have a dismal 6-14 record.

Harunobu Matsushita found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the 14th. Facing Syracuse hurler Shi-xian Kuai, the 21-year-old designated hitter hit a walk-off run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season put the Walleye on top, 7-6.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Matsushita told the Walla Walla Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
