Scarpenti Dazzles in Niagara Falls Win
|
The Niagara Falls Expos got a strong performance from pitcher Washington Scarpenti, who stymied the Nebraska offense en route to a 2-0 win at Waterfall Park. Jefferson Suhendro earned the save for Niagara Falls, his 7th of the year. No one expected much of this team but the hot start by Niagara Falls might have some re-evaluating their pre-season predictions. The win today pushes their record to 13-5.
The Plainsmen had trouble solving Scarpenti, who surrendered no earned runs on 3 hits over 7.1 innings.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Scarpenti told reporters after the game.
