Generals Win at Myrtle Beach, 4-1
|
The Washington Generals topped the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 4-1, in USSL Single A action at Seahwaks Stadium. The player of the game was Washington pitcher Phillip Donoghue. Donoghue, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. The Seahawks fall to 7-11 and continue their wobbly start to the 2029 season.
Washington took a 3-1 lead on Mike Lipide's 16th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Lipide hit in the top of the seventh, left Myrtle Beach pitcher Octávio Valdéz visibly frustrated.
"It feels good to get this one," Lipide told the Washington Times.
