The Nebraska Plainsmen bested the Syracuse Storm, 7-4, at Storm Park. Michael Cochran was named player of the game. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Nebraska reliever Frederick Vázquez was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Pong-keun Ch'oe took the loss for Syracuse. Earning his 1st save for Nebraska was Liam Thomson.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Gerardo Ponce de Leon hit a first pitch fastball from Pong-keun Ch'oe for a run-scoring single. It put Nebraska in front, 5-4.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Ponce de Leon told a Nebraska Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."

The Storm, now 3-7, have been pitiful so far.
