Megarity, Guzzlers Rough Up Caterpillars
|
The Galesburg Guzzlers met little resistance from the Grand Forks Caterpillars, beating them 12-3 at The Cocoon. Fletcher Megarity led the way. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for Galesburg. Tod Whipple earned the win for Galesburg. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 4-8. The Caterpillars, now 27-44, have lost 8 in a row.
Megarity had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the second, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Guzzlers went on to win.
