Guzzlers Stymie Louisiana, Take 2-0 Win
|
Galesburg used a superb performance from starting pitcher Mike McKay to down the Louisiana Dragoons, 2-0. Galesburg occupies 10th place in the Menard's A at 25-35.
Andre González had a big run-scoring single for the Guzzlers in the top of the second inning. With Galesburg leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Katsumoto Miyanohara and stroked the single to left. It was his 33rd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Guzzlers ahead, 2-0.
"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Galesburg manager Rickey Burrell said afterward.
