Louisiana and Grand Forks duked it out at The Cocoon and the Dragoons came out victorious.
The Louisiana Dragoons beat the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 5-2, at The Cocoon. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Reynaldo Padilla, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Katsumoto Miyanohara picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-2. He struck out 4 in 5 innings. Ron Pomar was credited with the save for Louisiana, his 7th of the season.
Louisiana took control in the top of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Ken Gill hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Dragoons.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Louisiana manager Justin Trewhells.
Louisiana is now 24-31.
