Caterpillars Cut Down Mango, 3-1
|
Edmund Blackadder pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Provo Mango, despite Blackadder's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Grand Forks Caterpillars at Mango Yard. Grand Forks reliever Joel Bennett was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Edmund Blackadder took the loss. Mat Tengku recorded the save for Grand Forks, his 2nd of the season.
Tied up with the Mango in the top of the fifth inning, the Caterpillars got a boost from catcher Tony Walsh. With the bases empty, Walsh saw a 1-0 fastball from Edmund Blackadder and hit a solo home run to break the stalemate and put Grand Forks on top, 1-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Walsh said.
Grand Forks currently is in last place in the Menard's A at 15-23.
