Myrtle Beach pitcher Tony Alfonso did his part in helping his team beat the Chesapeake Continentals, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Alfonso went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 2, and struck out 10. His record improves to 9-8. The Mermen raised their record to 46-49.

Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Tennille Grounds seemed to enjoy watching the USPL Double A action.
