Late Rally by Mermen Secures Win
The Myrtle Beach Mermen did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Asheville Highlanders at Tennille Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Plinio Pedrulho, who captured player of the game honors. The win was credited to Guus Ketting in relief. His record improves to 2-6. José Fuentes took the loss. Myrtle Beach, at 39-42, sits in 6th place in the Premier AA.

Elijah Seymour was the walk-off hero for Myrtle Beach. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mermen catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Pedrulho. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
