Victory Pushes Rails Record to 40-37
|
Richland Rails starter Shotaro Sugahara turned in an exceptional performance against the Myrtle Beach Mermen at Rails Ballpark, resulting in a Richland win, 4-0. Sugahara got the win, improving to 8-2. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Sugahara allowed no earned runs. Richland, at 40-37, sits in 4th place in the Premier AA.
Scott Ramsey, who is tied for 5th in the PAA in doubles with 17, aided the Richland cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said Sugahara.
