Lionhearts Nip Screaming Eagles, 5-4

Lannister United starter Currito Melena had a strong outing against the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Lionheart Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-4 win. The winning pitcher was Melena, now 5-5. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The win puts the Lionhearts at 35-37, while the Screaming Eagles drop to 42-30.
Tied up with the Screaming Eagles in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Lionhearts got a boost from third baseman Breanainn Swartwood. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Swartwood saw a 2-1 cutter from Kenny Aarnoutse and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Lannister United on top, 1-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Melena told the Lannister United Citizen.
