In a low-scoring clash between San Antonio and Asheville, pitcher Ángel Pérez was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for San Antonio in the 3-2 win. San Antonio took a 3-1 lead on Zhenya Worobtsoff's 73rd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Worobtsoff hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Asheville pitcher Ordono Lima visibly frustrated.
"I was a little disappointed," said Asheville manager Richard Weaver. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
