Screaming Eagles Stymie Myrtle Beach, Take 3-1 Win

Fans who gathered at Mercer Island Grounds saw a good contest between the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Myrtle Beach Mermen.
Tony Alfonso could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Myrtle Beach Mermen lost, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Mercer Island Grounds. Reliever James Scott picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Tony Alfonso took the loss. The save went to Armando Garay, his 3rd this season.
Jeffery Campbell, the Mercer Island designated hitter, contributed a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 2-1, Screaming Eagles. For the game, Campbell was 1-3 with a home run and a walk.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Mercer Island manager Jared Gilbert.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Screaming Eagles.
