Both teams had their chances, but the Richland Rails eventually prevailed at Rails Ballpark.
Richland pitcher Barney Starr did his part in helping his team beat the San Antonio BC, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Hartmann Riedman converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Had Alistair Mix not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Mix hit a solo home run. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Rails.
Mix told a Richland Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Richland, at 35-31, occupies 4th place in the Premier AA.
