Eclipse Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Highlanders
|
Fans who came to Asheville Park watched the Northville Eclipse and the Asheville Highlanders fight to the finish.
The Northville Eclipse overcame a good performance by Asheville center fielder Asko Riikonen to knock off Asheville, 6-5, at Asheville Park. Riikonen went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The Eclipse now have a mark of 32-33.
Augusto Rocha, who is tied for 7th in the PAA in total bases with 103, aided the Northville cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter went 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Rocha.
