Lionhearts Get Close Win Over Highlanders
|
The Asheville Highlanders and Lannister United Lionhearts provided some drama at Lionheart Field.
Lannister United beat Asheville at Lionheart Field, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to designated hitter Ramón García, who earned player of the game honors. Lannister United is now 29-27, while Asheville is 21-35.
García contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Lannister United in the bottom of the eighth. With his team trailing 5-4, García took a fastball from José Fuentes and stroked the home run to right. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Lionhearts to leap in front, 6-5.
"I had some good swings out there," said García.
