Richland Rails starter Paco Manuel was in fine form against the Chesapeake Continentals at Rails Ballpark, leading his team to a 7-1 win. Manuel, now 4-5, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 earned run. Richland, at 28-27, sits in 6th place in the Premier AA.
The Rails got a big at-bat from catcher Jorge Colón. For the game, Colón was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Richland a 3-1 lead.
