Late Rally by Mermen Secures Win
The Myrtle Beach Mermen defeated the Chesapeake Continentals, 3-1, in USPL Double A action at Chesapeake Grounds, with Myrtle Beach pitcher Gregory Bahena named player of the game. Guus Ketting picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-4. Joseph Chartier was tagged with the loss. Myrtle Beach, at 25-29, sits in 8th place in the Premier AA.

Éric Leroux made it 3-1 in favor of Myrtle Beach when he delivered a 2-run home run. It came with one out in the top of the ninth. The Mermen went on to win.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Leroux told the Myrtle Beach Herald.
