It was a good time at Mercer Island Grounds, where fans came to watch the Asheville Highlanders and Mercer Island Screaming Eagles get after it.

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles trumped the Asheville Highlanders, 6-4, at Mercer Island Grounds. Mercer Island shortstop Silas Floyd was named player of the game for his performance. He went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Kenny Aarnoutse, credited with the win, is now 5-0. He allowed 4 runs on 4 hits in 5.2 innings. Nésto Gago earned the save, his 2nd, for the Screaming Eagles.

Floyd contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Mercer Island in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Floyd took a cutter from Claudio Salazar and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Screaming Eagles to leap in front, 5-2.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Floyd told the Mercer Island Times.

The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Screaming Eagles.
