The Asheville Highlanders topped the Chesapeake Continentals, 6-5, in USPL Double A action at Chesapeake Grounds. The player of the game was Asheville pitcher and San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic native Claudio Salazar. Asheville reliever Manuel Sánchez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jason Martin was saddled with the loss. With the win, Asheville has a record of 18-27. Chesapeake falls to 21-24.

The most important at-bat for Asheville came in the top of the tenth inning, when second baseman Víctor Hernández stroked a 2-1 curveball to left-center for a solo home run, putting Asheville up, 6-5.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Salazar said.
