Herman Rips Chesapeake for 5 Hits
Jacob Herman put on a hitting clinic today as the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles dumped the Chesapeake Continentals 11-3 at Chesapeake Grounds.

The Mercer Island left fielder made Chesapeake defenders earn their pay, lashing Chesapeake pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Herman said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Jacob Herman hit a solo-shot off Obadiah Small in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
