Rails Come Up Short at Asheville
|
The Asheville Highlanders topped the Richland Rails, 5-4, in USPL Double A action at Asheville Park. The player of the game was Asheville pitcher Claudio Salazar. Asheville, at 14-24, occupies 9th place in the Premier AA.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when second baseman Víctor Hernández drew a walk. The Highlanders went on to win.
"Enjoyed this one," Hernández told the Asheville Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
