Rails Roll to 8-1 Win Over Misfits
|
Behind a solid performance from catcher Jorge Colón, the Richland Rails defeated the Salem Misfits, 8-1. Colón went 4 for 4 with 3 doubles. He drove in 3 runs for the Rails. Barney Starr, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 2-2. Richland, at 12-15, sits in 7th place in the Premier AA.
Colón had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the third, when he hit a 2-run double. The Rails went on to win.
