Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Chesapeake Continentals got the win.

Chesapeake right-hander Francisco Sandoval made an effective start against the Asheville Highlanders at Asheville Park, leading his team to a 4-2 win. Joseph Chartier earned the save for Chesapeake, his 5th of the year.

The Continentals got a big at-bat from third baseman Micheal Lovell. For the game, Lovell was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 9th hit of the season gave Chesapeake a 3-1 lead.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Lovell.

The Highlanders fall to 8-12 and continue their uneven start to the 2029 season.
